Welcome to my EVP Recording Guide. Before we begin, let me make this clear: I'm not an expert. I'm back. My trip was refreshing, to say the least. Being away gave me some time to think and get a fresh perspective on everything here. Despite my occasional misgivings, I feel that the EVP "experiments" I've been doing are important, and I'm going to continue them as time permits. This weekend I'll be doing at least one recording for sure...

As I mentioned in my earlier post, the recording from Wednesday is quite a bit more interesting than the one from Tuesday. In addition to a few sections of light "interference" similar to Tuesday's recording, this one had a relatively long period of heavy interference, during which there are two occassions of apparent "intelligent" sounds. The first sounds like a laugh, or rather, a deep chuckle, and the second seems to be a voice saying or asking "When", or saying "win", "wind", or something similar...

This second recording attempt was made Tuesday, January 4th, 2005. Same location: the table in the main room of my basement. I got an earlier start this time at 9:35pm. Again, lights off after I left. The recording length was 49 minutes, 11 seconds. There are audio clips (again, in low and high quality .mp3 format) of two sections I'm calling Section A and Section B...

Here are some EVP audio clips from the recording I did one week ago today. The entire recording was 32:11 long. The longer versions of the clip (the second group listed) are from the 29:19 to 29:39 section. About eight seconds into these clips is what seems to be a voice saying "I cannot go on."

My possible partial success with the old tape recorder Thursday night inspired me to make a more serious and systematic (I'm still working on that part) attempt to capture EVP sound recordings...

Like I said last time, I'm no EVP recording expert. I tried it for the first time last week with a simple tape recorder that had probably been hiding in a desk drawer for years. I think I got it from my aunt one Christmas. It has a standard built-in microphone and uses those miniature tapes. It had one in it, but (surprise, surprise) it seemed to be defective...

I'm anything but an EVP expert; I'd never really heard of the phenomena before it was popularized by the recent movie. But after I did hear about it, I knew I had to try it. And I had a strong feeling that it would be successful...

I don't consider myself a psychic, a metaphysician, or a parapsychologist. I don't study the 'paranormal' for a living, nor am I writing any books on the subject. In fact, I'm a pretty normal guy with a respectable but unremarkable professional career. And though I'm not giving that up any time soon (it allows me to live quite comfortably), my real passion lies elsewhere...
